Careers
Don't wait until graduation to start building your career.
Career development that runs alongside your education rather than after it.
Why this matters
Careers are not decided in final year. They are decided by what you did before it.
The conventional sequence — finish the qualification, then start thinking about work — leaves the most important preparation until the point of least leverage. By then the placements are gone, the portfolio is empty, and the competition has three years of evidence.
Career work at 100XD runs in parallel with study: understanding the destination early, finding the gap between here and there, and closing it while there is still time to.
- Destination identified before tactics — CV work without a target is guesswork
- Skill gaps named specifically, not described in general terms
- Evidence built through projects and placements as you study
- Support continuing past a first role into progression and transition

What each service involves9
Career discovery
Working out what you are actually aiming at — roles, sectors and working patterns — before spending effort on applications. Most poor career decisions are aim problems, not effort problems.
Skill-gap analysis
A specific comparison between what your target role requires and what you can currently evidence. Named gaps can be closed; vague ones cannot.
CV development
Written for the role you are applying to and the systems that screen it, with achievements stated as outcomes rather than duties.
Portfolio development
Assembling your projects, placements and delivered work into something a hiring manager can assess quickly and trust.
Professional mentoring
Regular sessions with someone working in your target field, for the judgement calls a guide cannot cover.
Interview preparation
Practice against the formats you will actually face — competency, technical, case or panel — with feedback on substance, not only delivery.
Internships and projects
Placements and briefs that produce the evidence the rest of this depends on. Preparation without evidence runs out quickly.
Job matching
Roles matched against your profile, eligibility and location, including the ones you may not have known to search for.
Career transition
Moving between sectors or functions: identifying which of your existing skills transfer, which do not, and what has to be added.
Common questions
Do you guarantee a job?
No. No one honestly can — hiring depends on the market, the employer and you. What we can do is make sure you are aiming at the right thing, that you can evidence the capability it needs, and that your application does not fail for avoidable reasons.
When should I start?
Earlier than feels necessary. The students who find final year straightforward are usually the ones who started building evidence in their first or second.
I want to change career entirely. Can you help?
Yes — career transition is a distinct service. The work is identifying which of your existing skills genuinely transfer, which do not, and the shortest credible route to closing the difference.
Does support stop once I get a role?
It does not have to. Progression, further qualifications and later transitions are part of the same development journey, which is the point of holding it in one place.
Your destination may be closer than you think.
Start by understanding where you are today, then compare the routes available to you.
